At Oakleigh Dental Practice we want to protect your oral and overall health.

As part of your general dental care, we provide mouth cancer screenings. Our dentists carefully inspect your mouth for any signs of oral cancer to give you a fighting chance to cure the disease.

Your dentist will look for abnormalities in your mouth such as sores that don’t heal, red and white patches and rough areas of tissue or lumps.

The most at-risk group for mouth cancer are older adults, aged 50-74. Males are more at risk of mouth cancer than females.

Studies demonstrate that smoking or drinking too much alcohol exacerbate your chances of developing mouth cancer.
